The house or dealer has to draw cards until the hand totals 17.  If the dealer has a 17 or higher the house has to stand.

When possible learning the number of decks played per round can help with counting remaining cards left in the hand before the round ends.   While this is not a customary tactic that is frowned upon it is possible in cases where there only one deck. 

Doubling down on a split is permitted however re-splits on a split hand are not.

Always

• Split a pair of aces and 8s.
• Stand on 17 or higher
• Stand on a pair of 10s
• Double on 11

Never

• Split a pair of 5s or 10s.
• Never buy insurance.
